What is tallow and how is it made?Updated 9 months ago
Tallow is a type of rendered beef fat. It is made by slowly heating it to separate the pure fat from any remaining meat, water, and connective tissues. The process involves gently melting it and then straining it to remove impurities, resulting in a clean, smooth fat that can (and should) be used for cooking. This traditional method preserves the nutritional integrity of the fat, making it an amazing cooking and skincare ingredient.
Our tallow is rendered down very slowly in kettles to produce the highest quality product. We use fat from the best quality grass-fed / finished, regenerative operations that we could find. Tallow is amazing, but our tallow is unlike any other.
